Marla Samuel Studios is an online gallery showcasing the extraordinary figurative sculptures and distinctive fused glass work of artist Marla Samuel. Working in stone, bronze, and body casting, her art is celebrated for its realism and profound emotional resonance. Her pieces are crafted with precision, portraying the spirit and inner world of her subjects. Her fused glass creations, often imitated but never replicated, stand apart through her meticulous attention to detail and mastery of the medium’s intricacies.
Marla Samuel discovered her passion for figurative sculpture in 1983 while studying at The University of California, Santa Cruz. Immersing herself in the bronze casting foundry, she mastered all aspects of the sculpting and casting process. After earning her B.A. in Fine Art, she pursued an intensive private apprenticeship in stone carving at the renowned Antognazzi family studio in Pietrasanta, Italy.
Upon returning to the U.S., she continued to refine her craft while living and working in California and New Mexico, contributing to sculpting groups, restorations, and mold-making for other artists. In 1998, she settled in the Rogue Valley of Oregon, where she continues to create her breathtaking sculptures.
